Varan
Varan was another Godzillaverse Kaiju humble yet lucky enough to get its own standalone film, only making my Anguirus-as-Luigi comparison more and more apt by the entry, here. Varan is a giant reptilian with a crown of spikes on its head, and a dorsal row going down its back. Plus an array of face-fins on its cheeks to give its face a bit more flare. But its main feature is the flying squirrel-like webbing between its arms and legs, allowing it to glide, or at least basically "fly."
While definitely fairly humble, it is at least more exciting than the rest of the Tohoverse's B-listers, with it having a funny enough concept behind it. Though it isn't hard to see why he hasn't turned up to be redesigned nearly as often as the other creatures we've seen thus far. I do rather wish he did though, since all I can think of as his next major appearance apart from his debut movie, Destroy All Monsters, and Final Wars, two of these movies being bent on showing off as many monsters as reasonably possible, is Godzilla Unleashed, one of those fighting games I keep talking about.
